WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO REBUILD! Fix A Friend Spay Neuter Clinic and all equipment is owned by Adopt an Angel, a 501c3 charitable organization, tax id 20-057652. We were flooded with 3-4 feet of water on Monday and 80 cats, 20 dogs and staff were evacuated by boat to the animal shelter because owners and rescues were unable to come back to get them due to flooded roads. The clinic has flood insurance, but that does not cover CONTENTS. We are assessing the damage to equipment and will have a better idea now that we can get inside and floodwaters have subsided. We know we will need washer, dryer, refrigerators, two $20,000 autoclaves, 6 anesthesia machines. The insurance will help build it back to the way it was. However, we have had TWO 500 year floods in 6 years so putting it back the way it was is not the answer. We need to build it back bigger, higher and better than it was and if we could DREAM, we would add in a small adoption center for the cats, kittens and dogs Adopt an Angel rescues---we own two acres. We would love to get off of a septic system and tap into county water. We are talking with our contractor who is meeting with architects to raise the entire building 3-4 feet. Cats and Kittens at PETCO in the Lowe's Home Improvement Store next to Staple's on College Rd. every Sat from 11-4 and Sun from 12-4.
Cats and Kittens are in Petco and Pet Supermarket in Wilmington and PetSense in Leland and Shallotte 7 days a week during regular store hours.
Adopt an ANGEL has no real shelter. It is a foster home network. We partner with area shelters, to concentrate on the cats and dogs that have run out of time or have special needs. We move them to a safe haven with private citizens, strive to provide them with any veterinary care they need, and then we find them loving homes. Since 2004, over 15,000 of these previously unwanted animals found their forever homes through our safety net. When one of ours gets adopted, we go and get another. It's as simple as that! To further reduce local pet overpopulation Adopt An ANGEL created Fix A Friend Spay Neuter Clinic. This clinic is part of the National Spay Neuter Response Team and has performed over 100,000 surgeries since opening in 2013.
